3. August
Day of repair ! The jib had to be taken down because the extrusion set
screws came loose during the long passage.
That plus a few other little repairs on the main sail had to be done.
Thanks to the big help of our boat neighbors from Uruguay, Volker ( who has
German parents and speaks fluently German) and Nicholas the work was done fairly
quickly.
The water heater pipe had a pinhole and was leaking. After draining the water we
could exchange the piece of pipe and got another repair checked off our list.
Now we have warm water again.
Today we had a Sunday's meal: Potato gratin, green beans and Schnitzel ! And
because you can't really pound Schnitzel meat on the boat, I had to do it on the
dock :)
The boys went with Mark and his son Justin and some other friends to Bathsheba
to the beach, they went rock climbing, caught grey fish, a kind of shrimp, by
hand, collected beach glass and had so much fun.
The plan for the week is to continue on to Grenada. The boys and I will stay
there while Mathias will have to fly back to Florida to the office. We might
leave on Wednesday, depending on good weather.
