6. August
Yesterday we cleaned, scrubbed, cleaned up, put stuff away and more of the fun
things...
We have been in Barbados now for two weeks and have been unpacking and using all
of our things and toys, but now it's time to move on and getting ready for the
next passage. It was the perfect day to do so, because ut was very rainy.
Today was a much nicer day. While doing some math in the morning we got
interrupted ( wow, were the boys upset about this interruption!) We had
seen them already the day before at the dock, another family with 2 children on
their catamaran here in our harbor.
We had planned to drive over to them already but didnt' because of the rain. And
now they were here at our dock. Their boat's name is "Zen" and we had already
ready their website www.sailingzen.com.
But now we got to know Tom, Monique, Cole and Cameron in person. They are from
Rhode Island and cruise through the Carribean to New Zealand and Australia.
Of course there was lots to talk about. The kids got along too and we were
excited to hear they will go to Grenada from here too.
Mathias spend the afternoon on the computer while the boys and I went to the
East Coast to Bathsheba for some boogie boaring and collecting sea glass. It was
lots of fun nd we found some nice pieces and rare colors, blue and red.
We met up with the Burgess Family again for dinner here at the Yacht Club where
we had a very nice evening... We have so many things in common it was quite
funny... and the beginning of a new friendship.
We talked and talked, and it got late, so the Nick and Cameron feel asleep in
the restaurant.
We plan to depart for Grenada on Friday night, the weather is suppose to be
ideal for the crossing. Our neighbors from Uruguay are still thinking about
joining us for the trip to Grenada.
