Market in St. George
After a 20 minute bus ride we got to the capital of
Grenada.
Taking the bus here is also a little adventure. Busses here are mini vans
with 10-14 seats, which just go along a certain route and pick up people. Of
course there is no schedule, you just wave the driver and then tell him
where you want to get off.
The fare ? Well, we have been paying various amounts for the same route, it
is somewhere between 7.50 and 12 EC for the four of us ( 2.67EC= 1US$), but
the bussing system seems to work aswe have always found our way around.
The market was like I imagined: lots of little stands with exotic fruit and
vegetables, lots of spices and loud Caribbean music.
Especially the spices are great here - Grenada is the spice island. We
bought a bunch of fruit and fresh veggies.
