21. August
It is time for an excursion of Grenada's inland. Seven Sisters - here we
come!
The Seven Sisters are seven waterfalls in the middle of Grenada's
rainforest. We took a local bus to St. Margret and started our hike there.
It took us through a private plantation where we got the chance to see
bamboo, cocoa, nutmeg and banana trees and how they are grown. The hike to
the falls took us about 40 min, but boy - was it a steep hike. Of course the
trail was muddy because of the recent rain, but seeing and experiencing the
lush rain forest was a reward in itself.
Once we got down to the pool of the first waterfall it was time for a break
and of course picture time !
We decided not to hike any further this time, but will do the big hike next
time, together with Mathias.
You can take the trail further up along all of the seven waterfalls and the
jump each one of the falls, the highest is 35 ft!
The boys are so looking forward to those jumps! Me ? - not so much !
After our break at the waterfall pool we hiked back up only to realize how
steep that hike was. I had some
tired legs once I was back at the entrance and was ready to relax! But it
was very much worth it.
