28. December
Dominica
We had planned to leave with sunrise but it was pouring rain so we delayed our
departure for a little bit.
When we finally left Martinique behind we ran into real bad weather. High wind
and high seas - and it continued like that all the 26 miles until we reached the
Southern end of Dominica.
Unfortunately there are no pictures of the crossing because the crew wasn't
feeling so well :)) . The captain mastered this rough passage
excellent and we were all very happy when we arrived in Portsmouth, Dominica at
5pm.
We took a mooring because nobody felt like dealing with setting an anchor
anymore. We got to know Albert, a local tour guide, who helped us with the
mooring and offered his services. We will make a tour with him tomorrow to the
Indian River which is suppose to be a jungle like small river with lots of
wildlife. I will tell you more about it tomorrow.
