26. December
Grande Anse D'Arlet
Already at 7.30 this morning we left the anchorage - of course only after our
obligatory stop at the bakery for croissants and baguette.
We were heading North but the wind was just crazy , between 10 and 33 knots,
from east and west, until we just had enough and shortened our daily goal to get
to St. Pierre in the North of Martinique.
We only made it half way and anchored in Grande Anse d'Arlet, a fantastic little
village with a nice beach, a beach walkway and beach bars.
We threw our anchor in between lots of other boats so Mathias and Niklas went
diving to check on the anchor ( important with so much wind!). And look with
what pictures Nik came back:

a turtle
a star fish
The water is very clear here and without really even looking for fish he had a
nice introduction to the underwater world here within 5 minutes. We like that!
A walk through the village and the beach walkway finished our day. We stopped at
a beach bar, made friends with Patrick, the owner, as well as a group of French
people.
After a few obligatory Pastis for Mathias, some other drinks and ice cream we
refreshed our rusted French and had a great afternoon.
Now there is a photo section for Martinique - check it out :)
